Cheryl serves as a leader and president of the Calusa Land Trust, a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to land conservation, environmental preservation, and habitat stewardship in Southwest Florida, primarily focusing on the Pine Island and Matlacha areas. She is also an active member of PIGC.
She actively directs and participates in local conservation efforts, including trail cleanups, invasive species removal projects, native plantings (such as slash pine seedlings), and educational community outreach events like local parades and annual fundraisers (such as the Duck Race).
Through her leadership at the Calusa Land Trust, she emphasizes community involvement, membership growth, and hands-on environmental stewardship to protect local natural preserves and wildlife habitats.
